09/06/23:

Hello Warrior Wrestling Families. Our club is in need of board members. The success of Del Norte Wrestling relies on having a board of 9 volunteers managing the club and we are short a few members this year. 

The board tries to meet once a month (via Zoom and/or in person) during the off-season and a bit more during the season. We work together to support countless young athletes in our community. Aside from once-a-month meetings, each board member takes on a role in organizing different aspects of the club so that no one person has to do too much. 

I know that everyone is busy, and has jobs, kids, etc., just like the board members we have now, but we can't be successful without volunteers. Please consider taking on this important role!

02/09/22:

We are happy to announce that Del Norte Wrestlers will be back on the mat this spring freestyle season. Please note that due to Covid-19 causing uncertainty with sporting activities we are waiving the club fee this year. The only fee charged is the required USA wrestling card fee through California USA Wrestling. This card can be used at any USA wrestling event in the country and is non-refundable.

04/02/20: 

Good morning Warrior Wrestling Families. Del Norte Wrestling, Inc. board members met last night to discuss the remainder of our Season; specifically the possibility of starting back up on April 20th in line with the schools reopening. We have been watching the news closely for updates on the possibility of starting the season up again. Our hope was to be able to offer an update to you all from USA Wrestling, CA USA Wrestling and/or REWA regarding the season. At this time we have not heard any change in the schedule from CA USA wrestling or REWA. USA Wrestling did announce that all sanctioned events have been canceled through May 10, 2020. Therefore we do expect that CA USA Wrestling and REWA will follow that timeline. We will update as soon as we hear either way.

The Del Norte Wrestling board voted last night to follow the Del Norte Unified School Districts (DNUSD) lead and remain closed until further notice. If the DNUSD Board decides to close school campuses for the remainder of the school year we will have no choice but to cancel the season.

We want to thank everyone for your patience during these unprecedented times, to encourage everyone to stay safe and to follow the recommended social distancing guidelines. Go Warriors!!!

03/15/20:

REWA has canceled the remaining tournaments for March; with the hope of rescheduling in May if possible. REWA will meet again in 2 weeks to evaluate the remaining tournaments. 

Del Norte Wrestling is following the School District's directive regarding the COV19 pandemic. Therefore, effective imediately ALL practices are canceled through April 10th. The Board will meet on March 31st to evaluate the remainder of the season. We understand that this is an ever changing situation and we are working with local, regional, and state agencies to protect all of our Warrior Wrestling Families. As soon as we have more information we will share with you all. Thank you for your patience and understanding. 

03/12/20: 

REWA (our governing body) has cancelled this weekends wrestling tournament as a precautionary measure to help prevent the spread of the Corona virus. At this time there has not been any confirmed cases of the virus in Del Norte County but we do want to do our part to limit the spread of this virus. Our practices are still going as scheduled and we hope to see everyone there. We appreciate your understanding as we work through this unique situation. We do not know if any other tournaments will be cancelled or postponed to later in the year. We will keep you posted when/if we get any new information.
